whitewash

what once you thought was sure to be

displayed to never fade

has since felt deep the little fall of rain

and somehow here has made

your rainbows all emerge unscathed

protected from the fury of  his whitewash

somehow brighter than her cliche locks of gold

some way fonder of you than she’ll ever know how

some old sage and lover walking through a sea.
